Fictional places with real websites
This site carried on the narrative of my thesis. The fictional 42 tower uses it to promote the apartments in the tower, the amenities, the team involved in designing it and the job opportunities available.
This one is a portal into the country of Eagle Canyon. It was inspired by the Eagle Canyon golf and lifestyle estate in Roodepoort: 3 000 hectares and more than 800 houses, with its own golf course, gym, restaurants, clubhouses and tennis courts. Eagle Canyon is an example of how many people with means choose to build and consume architecture.
Installation
Propaganda, stencils and concrete
In this series, propaganda is the tool that builds the narrative of a landscape: one that promotes capitalism as a necessity, the need for relentless production and consumption, and the large labour forces that support them. Stencils, layered spray paint and architectural drawings start to talk about the relationship between architecture, capitalism and its critique. The passports are for a Hybrid Region, and carry the emblems of more than one country on their covers.
